Solidarity with Abdullah Akl and Within Our Lifetime
The Bronx Anti-War Coalition stands in solidarity with Abdullah Akl and Within Our Lifetime, condemning the NYPD's racist targeting of Muslim youth leaders and the violent arrest of dozens of protestors on September 24th, 2024.
As New Yorkers rallied against the zionist entity’s indiscriminate bombing in Lebanon, which massacred over 550 civilians, the NYPD responded with its own brand of terrorism by targeting Abdullah. This attack is part of a broader pattern of repression against Palestinian liberation leaders in NYC, mirroring the IOF’s attempts to destroy resistance by targeting leaders across the Palestinian Resistance and Axis of Resistance.
Both the IOF and the NYPD aim to crush the Palestinian liberation movement by targeting leaders like Abdullah, attempting to intimidate those who speak against occupation and genocide. Despite the high personal costs paid by these leaders in their struggle against U.S./zionist imperialist forces, which have committed countless massacres, the spirit of resistance remains unbroken.
We demand the resignation of Mayor Eric Adams and the disbandment of the NYPD's Strategic Response Group. The NYPD’s brutality is a futile attempt to suppress the movement that has relentlessly disrupted business as usual for nearly a year, resisting the U.S.-backed zionist genocide in Palestine. Just as the zionist entity's massacres in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Iran, Yemen, and Syria have failed to crush resistance, the NYPD's terroristic actions only strengthen our resolve.
We call on people of conscience to resist state terrorism and imperialism from New York City to Lebanon, Missouri to Gaza. We demand the immediate release of Abdullah Akl and all unjustly arrested. Targeting leaders like Abdullah will only strengthen our resistance, exposing both the IOF and NYPD as despicable entities that should not exist.
Our struggle will persist until we achieve the full liberation of Palestine and the dismantling of the zionist entity. We stand in solidarity with all victims of U.S./zionist imperialism and state violence.
